Improving Student Outcomes through Expanded Learning.

The David  P. Weikart Center for Youth Program Quality had a strong presence at the U.S. Department of Education's 21st CCLCs Summer Institute in Nashville in July. In Scaling Up: How 21st CCLC Networks are Building Innovative Quality Accountability and Improvement Systems, Charles Smith, Bob Granger and state 21st CCLC coordinators from MI, NM, and RI were featured. Charles also co-led a preconference session with Joe Durlak and Lauren Sterling about social-emotional learning indicators, and presented on a panel with representatives from the Institute for Education Sciences, the W.T. Grant Foundation, and several regional education labs entitled Improving Student Outcomes through Expanded Learning: Experts Bring Evidence to Practice Part II.
