Amanda is an educator, writer, and leader dedicated to engaging young people and adults with authentic, meaningful opportunities to learn and lead. Amanda holds a Bachelor of Arts in English language and literature with a sub-concentration in poetry and a Master of Arts in teaching–both from her beloved alma mater, the University of Michigan. Amanda also holds a standard teaching certificate in the state of Michigan for grades K-8 with endorsements in language arts, mathematics, and English as a second language. She has over 16 years of experience in the education field in a variety of roles–everything from volunteer to site director to technical assistance provider. She lives in Michigan with her partner, Meagan, and their two cats, Rainbow and Frankie.
