Joe is the Manager of Field Services of the Weikart Center.

He is also the project manager for the Quality Counts Challenge. He oversees the technical delivery and assistance. Joe works with sites to design, implement and customize the delivery of our standard training and tools. In addition, he is one of our corresponding liaisons to building relationships with our growing and demanding clientele consisting of organizations, agencies and other groups. Joe is a major contributing colleague to the overall projects that CYPQ endeavors to take on.

Joe joined the Center for Youth Program Quality in September 2007 and he has been a valuable asset. His work experience is based around youth services and has been for almost 10 years. He has worked with Starr Commonwealth as a challenge coordinator; Omni Youth Services as a journey instructor; with High/Scope Educational Research Foundation as field consultant, institute counselor, trainer and assessor and the University of Michigan as a lead and group facilitator and site supervisor. In addition, he has worked at Thistledew Camp and Nokomis Challenge Center as a wilderness instructor, and a host of other youth based organizations like Outdoor Adventures, Family Focus and Tresslercare Wilderness School. Joe continues to serve diligently in the community building and advising state, where he brings his knowledge, leadership and instructional techniques into action.

Joe’s educational background consists of a Masters of Social Work (Dec. 2004) from the University of Michigan, Masters of Science: Industrial Engineering (May 2001) from Pennsylvania State University, and a Bachelor’s of Science: Mechanical Engineering, (May 1999) from the University of Illinois.
