Senior Policy Associate

How many poets spend their days writing about state policy issues and strategies? At the Forum, it’s one: Danielle, who supports the Forum's federal and state policy work by, for example, facilitating the Children's Cabinet Network and developing policy briefs.

Before joining the Forum in 2008, Danielle served as a research associate at N. Chapman Associates, Inc., a nutrition and health policy communications firm, where she specialized in child nutrition policy.

Outside of the Forum, Danielle co-hosts Sparkle, a queer-driven reading series for all at a prominent Washington, D.C. bookstore. Her poems have appeared in Beltway Poetry Quarterly, Blue Collar Review, Objet d'Art, Xenith and DCist; she has performed her poems alongside saw players and trapeze artists. Danielle is the recipient of a Young Artist Grant from the D.C. Commission on the Arts and Humanities and winner of the 27th Annual Larry Neal Writers’ Award in poetry.

Danielle graduated from Rutgers University in 2007 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and American Studies. She is a Master of Public Administration candidate at the Trachtenberg School of Public Policy and Public Administration at the George Washington University with plans of injecting iambs into the tax code.
