Tom Akiva

Tom is involved in supporting and enhancing all aspects of program improvement initiatives at the Weikart Center. This involves product development, research and custom adaptation of Weikart Center products to client contexts.

Tom is the author of many Weikart Center training workshops and their guidebooks, and has been on the development team for the Youth Program Quality Assessment since its conception. He has supported numerous state, county and city initiatives to assess and improve the quality of youth programs.

Tom earned his B.A. in English at Alma College; his M.A. in Educational Studies and his M.S. in Psychology at University of Michigan; and is a doctoral candidate in the Combined Program of Education and Psychology at Michigan.
