Angelina describes her mission as “bringing together individuals and organizations dedicated to developing a strong, diverse youth development workforce that is stable, supported and committed to the well-being and empowerment of young people and communities.” She carries out that mission as manager of the Weikart Center’s Technical Assistance and Coaching Support Services Initiative, which provides coaching and consulting to the center’s clients, such as Michigan’s 21st Century Community Learning Centers. Angelina came to the Weikart Center in 2009 from Kansas City, Mo., where she was an after-school professional development specialist for the Francis Institute and an after-school regional educator for the Missouri Afterschool Network. Before that, she was manager of technical assistance and site development at YouthNet of Greater Kansas City, where she implemented program improvement plans and training for youth workers and youth work managers. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Kansas, where she majored in Theatre and minored in African American Woman Studies.
