Ready by 21
Ready by 21© is a set of innovative strategies that helps communities and states improve the odds that all children and youth will be ready for college, work and life. Ready by 21 tools and technical assistance guide groups of leaders from different organizations and agencies to work in partnership for all young people along the Insulated Education Pipeline – the full complement of settings where learning and development happens.
The Big Picture Approach
The Big Picture Approach© is a suite of training and tools for community partnerships groups working to improve population-level outcomes. Big Picture Approach Institutes are designed for professionals and partnership groups working with a collective impact approach at different levels – ranging from regional collaboratives to neighborhood groups as well as from single issue coalitions to those focused on multiple issues.
Program Quality Improvement
The Forum's The David P. Weikart Center for Youth Program Quality (CYPQ) implements evidence-based processes to assess and improve the quality of out-of-school time programs through a cycle of continuous improvement. These processes include the Youth Program Quality Assessment and the Youth Program Quality Intervention. They are carried out primarily by networks of providers across a state, region or community.
The Forum’s policy staff works with state and local leaders to assess and align government policies across systems and levels to make those policies more effective. It does this through tools, guides and technical assistance. The staff also manages the Children’s Cabinet Network, composed of state officials who meet regularly to coordinate services, develop a common set of desired outcomes, and implement plans to foster the well-being of young people in their state.
