AASA Awards Ready by 21 Peer Workgroup Mini-Grants

Creating Lasting Solutions for Success in Louisville

Across the country, too few youth leave high school ready for success. Community statistics and conditions vary, but there is no community across the country that is doing well enough by its children and youth. There is a need to do more. More to the point, there is a need to do better – to make bolder commitments, to create broader ownership and partnerships, to ensure greater returns on public and private investments.

Ready by 21 Change Maker Update: State-Level Children's Cabinets and Commissions Come Into Their Own

In March 2006 the Forum along with NGA and the New Mexico Children's Cabinet hosted the second annual Children's Cabinet Roundtable in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Eight states participated in the Roundtable and discussed their progress in coordinating resources, collaborating on strategies, and convening key players in improving outcomes for children and youth.

Steering a Course Toward Effective Youth Policies: Dashboards For Youth

Based on frameworks advanced by states across America and countries around the world, the Forum for Youth Investment has developed a sample youth policy framework. This framework, builds off of the metaphor of a car dashboard. If one wants to “steer a positive course” for youth, the first thing they will need is a clear vision of the areas of development they wish to promote.
