Ready by 21 Brings All Michigan Stakeholders on Board
This fall, the Forum partnered with Michigan's Children and the Michigan Shared Youth Vision Partnership as they planned and convened the Michigan Dropout Prevention Leadership Summit, held on October 20 in Lansing, Michigan. The Summit was a part of the America's Promise Alliance's initiative to support all 50 states and the 50 largest cities in addressing the dropout crisis.
Washington: Legislative Youth Advisory Council
This youth council was formed to examine issues of importance to youth, such as: education, employment, strategies to increase youth participation in government, safe environments for youth, substance abuse, emotional and physical health, foster care, poverty, homelessness, and youth access to services.
New Hampshire: New Hampshire Youth Advisory Council
A legislative youth advisory council is established to examine issues of importance to youth, such as education, employment, strategies to increase youth participation in local and state government, safe environments for youth, substance abuse, emotional and physical health, foster care, poverty, homelessness, and youth access to state and local services.
Maine: Legislative Youth Advisory Council
The Legislative Youth Advisory Council is a permanent advisory Council created in statute by Public Law of 2001. This is the first Legislative Council in the nation, and the only one that they know of that has the power to submit legislation. The purpose of the Council is to advise the Legislature and its Committees on issues related to youth.
