Ohio Family and Children First (OFCF) has developed a comprehensive action plan to align and coordinate data and resources for children and youth with the long term goal of improving outcomes over a range of areas, e.g. increase post-secondary education attainment and quality of life for families. OCCF is statutorily defined as the Governor’s Cabinet for children and families.
On December 4-5, teams gathered in Washington DC from across the 13 Quality Counts sites to reflect on progress made during the first year of the initiative and to fine-tune their work plans for the coming year. It was an energizing meeting that showcased a rich variety of local and state strategies and underscored the value of the peer learning and networking that under girds Ready by 21.
The Council for Youth Development is a local coalition, supported by a successful, nationally-recognized program. The Council includes our school systems, youth-serving agencies, government, United Way and scores of agencies dedicated to helping prepare our children to be healthy, successful members of society.
