Cari A. Hourigan is the Vice President, Finance & HR. She comes to the Forum with more than a decade of experience managing the intersection of finance, HR, grants, and contract management in startup and growing nonprofits.
Prior to joining the Forum, Cari served as the Director of Finance & Operations for the National Immigration Project (NIPNLG) where she rebuilt the finance and accounting systems to comply with GAAP and industry best practices, established comprehensive onboarding and offboarding processes, and implemented streamlined and user-friendly business systems tools to support timekeeping, expense reimbursement, and project management.
Over the course of her career, Cari has developed a passion for building and modernizing finance and HR systems rooted in a right-sized approach that allows an organization’s mission to thrive.
Cari holds an MSc in Development Studies from the Adam Smith School of Economics at the University of Glasgow and a BA in International Studies from Manhattan College. Cari is also a proud graduate of Schenectady High School, a Title I school in upstate New York. In her free time, Cari enjoys playing tennis (not pickleball) and spending time with her nieces and nephews.
