Jo Ann Paanio

Born and raised in Los Angeles, Jo Ann has cultivated her career in social justice and advocacy to increase opportunities for individuals and families. Jo Ann’s commitment to improving outcomes for communities began with her experiences in JusticeCorps and later included working with youth and young adults spanning across the foster care, juvenile justice, housing and immigration systems. Her advocacy work in economic justice has focused on working in partnership with directly impacted individuals. As a former faculty member of California State University, Dominguez Hills, Jo Ann taught undergraduate courses in U.S. and global politics. She has also served as a consultant for the Obama Foundation and Cultural Vistas.
