Sandra has recently joined the team in 2019 as a Research Assistant, and provides assistance with data analysis, reporting findings, and providing support to Weikart Center clients.
Sandra’s interest in Social Sciences Research began while working towards her Bachelor of Social Work and Psychology at Meredith College. Her undergraduate thesis focused on the effects of behavioral expectations on female friendships which she found to run parallel to The Forum’s support of Social and Emotional Learning. Through volunteering for a Community Hope program at the YMCA, and completing a field placement at SHIFT NC where she conducted advocacy for and research about sexual health initiatives for young adults, she has focused on improving the lives of youth. Research is the intersection between both her passion for the world of numbers and also for promoting individual and societal wellness and equity.
