Pathways to Quality Series

We know a ‘one-size-fits-all’ approach to training leaves some gaps for many of you and your staff. In an effort to provide supports aligned with your needs, we’ve created three “Pathways to Quality” that we believe will support you right where you are and help you to take a step toward where you want to be this year. We’ll be offering a live, virtual learning experience each month that supports each of the three pathways and you can register for future sessions through MiRegistry. For an overview of the Pathways to Quality, check out the Kickoff recording. Recordings will be made available throughout the year.

YPQI Kickoff - August 4, 2021

Revisit this overview of the YPQI to begin planning your assess-plan-improve process. The YPQI process begins with assessment in order to build on youth workers’ existing strengths and identify challenge areas. These areas then go into an improvement plan as goals, with clear steps and benchmarks for success. We follow this up with powerful supports for youth leaders to manage improvement, and the high-quality Youth Work Methods series of workshops for staff. The assess-plan-improve sequence establishes a supportive system for continuous improvement.

Introduction to the Active-Participatory Approach - September 29, 2021 & May 6, 2022

This method introduces the "active-participatory approach" which is the foundational philosophy for all our other youth work methods workshops. In an active-participatory approach, adults engage young people socially, emotionally, cognitively and physically as active participants in their own learning and development.
