Ready by 21: Presentation at the Southeastern Council of Foundations Annual Meeting

Nearly 50 grantmakers aSECF logond foundation leaders from throughout the Southeast attended a workshop titled The Big Picture: Using Small Strategic Grants to Increase Capacity for Change,
at the Southeastern Council of Foundations Annual Meeting
in Mobile, Alabama on November 11, 2010. This session, presented by Kris Minor and Larry Pasti of the Forum, Linda McReynolds of United Way of Greater Chattanooga and
Mary Kate Poling of Metro United Way Louisville, provided an overview of the Ready by 21 approach; the critical ingredients behind building broader partnerships, setting bigger goals, using better data and implementing bolder strategies; and the Ready by 21 National Partnership's composition and goals. Chattanooga and Louisville are two of six communities in the southeast who are participating in the Ready by 21 National Partnership's Southeast Challenge to use the Ready by 21 solutions to change the way they do business. They discussed how they have used Ready by 21 ideas, tools and services to enhance their work to improve outcomes for children and youth.

Ready by 21: Introduction to the Ready by 21 Strategy

Ready by 21 is a strategy that helps communities improve the odds that all youth will be ready for college, work, and life. This webinar guided participants through the essential components of Ready by 21 - the rationale behind Ready by 21, tools and services available to communities and leaders and the Ready by 21 National Partnership, an unprecedented coalition of organizations representing government, education, non-profit, business, research, and philanthropy sectors.

The Ready by 21 National Partnership
Needs Your Input!!

The Ready by 21 National Partnership is building an online community for leaders to access tools, trainings and content to
help them improve the odds for all children and youth.

We are beginning the building process by getting your thoughts and ideas for how to proceed. We would greatly appreciate hearing your insights on what types of information and resources would be useful and in what formats.

We have set up a quick online survey to help you share your thoughts: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/MAIN
