Patrick Freeland is the Director of Statewide Quality Improvement Systems. He is a trusted nonprofit leader who has worked successfully in various capacities, including leadership, state government, management, operational, consultancy, volunteer, and direct service. He also brings extensive experience from the positive youth development field, including 12+ years working with a local out-of-school time intermediary where he served as an advisor and quality improvement manager. Patrick supports youth and their communities by enhancing youth-serving programs/systems, improving organizational outcomes, and fostering positive and healthy community relationships. He received a M.S. degree in mental health counseling and a B.S. degree in psychology. He is a certified professional coach, OST newsletter contributor, and holds a national Youth license from United States Soccer Federation (USSF). Patrick seeks to treat others the way they wish to be treated.
Patrick volunteers his time by serving as an out-of-school time Lead Endorser and nonprofit Peer Reviewer for Social Current, formally the Council on Accreditation (COA). In these roles Patrick conducts national and international site visits to nonprofit organizations to validate quality, champion best practices, and promote client-centered policies and procedures.
Patrick also believes in the power of sports-based youth development and serves as a Board member, coach, and Director of Girls’ Soccer for the Soccer Association of Boca Raton (SABR). In these volunteer roles, he provides leadership and direction to SABR’s coaches and division representatives while enthusiastically helping youth fall in love with the game of soccer so that they can use the ‘beautiful game’ as a tool for life. Patrick lives with his wife and two daughters in South Florida.
