Primo Lasana

Primo Lasana serves as Chief Impact Officer at the Forum for Youth Investment, shaping and guiding the Forum’s programmatic strategy to deliver meaningful results for young people and strengthen partnerships across systems. He brings experience in early childhood education, college and career access, and middle school education, with work spanning cities such as New York and Chicago. Most recently, he served as Executive Director of Reading Partners for the New York City region, managing a team of 75 people delivering literacy interventions. During his nearly five years in this role, Primo grew the budget by more than 100%, adapted program delivery to an online platform, and launched licensing partnerships.

Prior to Reading Partners, Primo spent eight years at iMentor, a national college access program that leverages volunteers for student success. There, he held leadership roles in program implementation, volunteer recruitment, fundraising, and national program expansion. He started his career at City Year Chicago, where he completed two years of service in Chicago Public Schools as an AmeriCorps member.

Born and raised in New York City, Primo grew up in lower Manhattan and has been a Brooklyn resident for nearly 15 years, where he lives with his wife, Marley, and their son, Arthur. He earned an Executive Master of Public Administration from NYU Wagner in 2021 and completed his undergraduate studies at CUNY Hunter College. Primo has served on his local community board and currently serves on the board of a local public hospital.
