Shavon fell in love with youth development on her college campus where she assisted with running an after-school program for middle school students. She has dedicated the past 20 years learning, growing, and expanding her work in the field through facilitation, coaching, grants management, and program design. She has spent most of her time running summer camps and after-school programs within community organizations, educational settings, and most recently, local government. Before joining the Forum, she served as a Network Consultant where she facilitated and designed trainings for the Learn24 Network in Washington, DC.

Shavon received her B.A. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and holds a Master of Public Administration from the University of Phoenix. She resides in Montgomery County, MD with her wife, Samantha, and her two children, Kristian and Kyla. She loves spending her spare time watching Marvel movies, doing word searches, and teaching people how to do their makeup.
