The Weikart Center’s Capacity Building opportunities are designed to train organizations to lead continuous improvement efforts on their own. If you’ve been through the YPQI trainings and want to develop the skills to lead the YPQI, you’re in the right place.
Each Capacity Building workshop ends with Weikart Center certification or endorsement necessary to lead the YPQI independently and at scale.

WHAT IT IS This TOT supports leaders in developing the core practices they need to facilitate & lead a CQI process. You will gain the ability to independently lead two workshops that are critical parts of the process: GOOD TO KNOW Management TOT candidates must have successfully attended YPQA Basics & Planning with Data. It is highly recommended that candidates have also successfully completed the External Assessor Reliability Training & the Quality Coaching workshop. WHAT IT IS Our most intensive course prepares methods trainers to be able to deliver Youth Work Methods workshops within their networks. The 10 methods workshops are aligned with the YPQA and support skill-building for youth workers. GOOD TO KNOW Due to the nature & rigor of the course, prior training experience & experience with the Youth Work Methods are highly recommended. The Social and Emotional Learning Training of Facilitators (SELTOF) Retreat prepares participants to lead the ten SEL Youth Work Methods professional development workshops that are rooted in the SEL PQA and the Preparing Youth to Thrive guide. WHAT IT IS An intensive capacity-building course that prepares participants to lead their summer programs in the quality improvement process, including data collection using the Summer Learning PQA, coaching, & improvement planning with data. GOOD TO KNOW The primary audiences for this experience are trainers, coaches, assessors, summer school/program coordinators, etc. who provide direct support to youth summer programs.
